“Much Ado About Nothing” at Diana Wortham Theatre

Recently, much of the English and Drama classes went to see a three-man rendition of the famous Shakespearean play “Much Ado About Nothing.” The story is centered around Benedick and Beatrice, two sworn to never marring, and their friends interfering to get them together. However, there’s plenty more going on between the rest of the colorful cast with interlocking stories. Being but three actors, they manage by wearing different wigs and accessories to represent the different characters; in order to follow the story, you have to be able to connect the character to their clothes and speech– not the person. If you’re looking for a play with romance, drama, and comedy in spades suited to fit the modern era, the play is currently showing in the Diana Wortham Theatre (in Pack Plaza) in Downtown Asheville.
